My next door neighbor Rhonda is an amazing friend. Why? Because she is fun to talk to, she loves my children (and all six of her own), she invited me to appear in an Infomercial with her (perhaps one day I will show it to you ;), she made beautiful and delicious desserts for a large family gathering I was hosting, and last summer when my daughter got a comb wound in her hair so tightly that it wouldn’t budge, Rhonda was the first person I called. She came over with her pick comb, motioned to the couch, and basically said, “Let’s get to work.” When a person spends two hours helping you to untangle a comb from your daughter’s hair, you know she's a good friend.

So when it was time to find Rhonda a gift for her birthday this past spring, I wanted to give her something that I knew she would love. One afternoon she stopped by for a visit and I was wearing a tee shirt with Audrey Hepburn's picture on it. She commented that she loves Audrey Hepburn and she loves pearls. The light bulb turned on.
