Today, July 9th, we are Giving Away... (PRIZES CLAIMED)

A $30.00 Gift Certificate and a "My Cookie Book" from Karen's Cookies

One word: COOKIES. Is that one word enough to get you to enter to win today? I know it would be for me. Cause c'mon, how tasty are cookies? Very. And so I should just leave it at that one word. But I can't. Because there is just so much that I want to tell you about Karen's Cookies, who just so happens to be our featured company today.

First off, last March I received this Frog Cookie Kit from Karen's Cookies:

Loved it (and so did my family). So many uses. To name just a few: my kids and I made froggy cookies for a bunch of our neighbors; my sister's childhood nickname was "Froggy" so we made froggy cookies for our family gathering on Sunday (everyone thought the cookies were great, especially "Froggy", oops, I mean Kris); and finally my little gal turned four in April. She wanted to have a Princess Party and she wanted her guests to decorate froggy cookies using our kit from Karen's Cookies. So I read aloud the story Frog Prince and then each little pricess decorated her own frog cookie. It was a big hit (and I have to say, I thought they did a really good job, I especially like the froggy on the left whose wearing a little smile):

Karen's Cookies offers 14 fun cookie decorating kits. Each kit comes complete with everything you will need to shape and decorate your very own cookies. Let me show you just a few of the yummy (and very attractive) cookies you can make with Karen's Cookies kits:

Stars and Stripes Forever

Oh Tannenbaum

Adorable Onesies. Seriously, would these not be the cutest little treats at a baby shower? Or wouldn't it be fun to take them to a family who just brought home a new bundle of joy?

Karen's Cookies also sells cookie cards which explain how to make and decorate different cookies. Two such cards:

This one gives instructions for a pizza, watermelon, hamburger, taco, and hot dog!

And this one shows how to make a soccerball, volleyball, baseball, football, and a basketball.

But if by chance you just can't decide which cookie card instruction sheet to buy, you can enter to win (and/or purchase) the "My Cookie Book" which includes all 15 cookie cards (Recipe Card, Wedding Cake, Baby Buggy, Frog, Pizza, Patriotic Stars, School Bus, Sports Balls, Fall Leaves, Jack O Lantern, Ghost, Snowman, Santa, Christmas Trees, Snowflakes):

I recently received "My Cookie Book" in the mail. My children were just as thrilled as I to look through the book and discover all of the fun cookies we are going to be able to make and decorate together. A cookie for every occassion, I say.

The thing I love best about Karen's Cookies products is that you will have them forever. And not only do they make people happy (eating deliciously decorated cookies brings joy to most tummies), but they also allow you to make lasting memories as you bake and decorate cookies with your sweetie, children, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews.

So go ahead and buy something that is going to help you make memories, darn it. And we are here to help make it even easier (and cheaper). Karen's Cookies is offering a 15% DISCOUNT from now until July 16th to Give Away Today readers on all of their products. To receive the discount, use the coupon code "giveawaytoday02" upon check-out. And just so you're aware, in addition to offering quality cookie-making items, Karen's Cookies also sells products such as baking supplies, ingredients, edible accents, and decorating supplies. Click here to check out all of their fantastic products.

You can enter to win the $30.00 gift certificate and "My Cookie Book" from Karen's Cookies up to FOUR times today. This giveaway is open worldwide (with one small catch). If you live outside of the US you will need to pay shipping. If you're cool with that, go ahead and enter to win.

For one entry, leave your first and last name in a comment.
Example: Jane Doe

For a second entry, please visit Karen's Cookies website here. Browse around and then return to Give Away Today and in a NEW comment tell us your first and last name and how you would use your $30.00 gift certificate if you win.
Example: Jane Doe: I would love a Cookie Spatula and the Fall Leaves Decorating Kit

For a third entry, become a follower of Give Away Today on the right-hand side bar. Once you have become a follower or if you already follow, in a NEW comment tell us your first and last name and the word "Follow".
Example: Jane Doe: Follow

For a fourth entry, in a NEW comment tell us your first and last name and a good idea for a birthday party that you have thrown or one in which you or someone you know has attended.
Example: Jane Doe: Last year I wanted to encourage my son to continue reading throughout the summer months. I told him if he would read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory we could have a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory party for his birthday at the end of July. When the time came, we delivered chocolate bars to each of his friends which contained a Golden Ticket inviting them to the party. As the boys arrived on party day, we divided them into groups and rotated to three stations. At one station they made suckers, at another they played musical chairs to the Oompa-Loompa music, and at the third they played "Don't Eat Pete" using the words "Willy, Willy, Wonka". At the end of the party we brought out two chocolate fountains for dessert. A good time was had by all.

The winner of the $30.00 gift certificate and "My Cookie Book" from Karen's Cookies will be announced tomorrow, Friday, July 10th. We do not contact the winners, so please visit us again tomorrow to see if you are our winner and to discover our new giveaway for the day. Thanks and have a great day!

I did a fun princess party where the girls went to the local beauty school for fancy "up-do's" and manicures then had cupcakes & punch with party favors such as candy lipstick, crowns, body glitter, tatoos, costume jewelery, etc. in a fancy purse. Very fun.

I did a Curious George party in June and it was a hit. We did it outside and had a wading pool, slip n' slide, badminton, yellow cupcakes, bananas as the baloon weights, and got a ton of Curious George favors from the Target dollar bins. It was great for the kids and adults.

Rachel Jenkins: When my oldest son turned 7, he had a pirate-themed party, where I drew a life-sized picture of a kid on a big piece of newsprint and we played "pin the patch on the pirate." We also had a treasure hunt throughout the house, which the boys loved so much! In the treasure box was a lot of gold-covered candies, and they thought they were in heaven! We had "shark's blood" (cherry kool-aid) and cupcakes with golden candies on top. We also had all the boys (and adults) dress up like pirates and gave them each a name tag with a pirate name on it that they had to call each other the whole time. Many of them couldn't read yet, so that didn't work out so well. Our son hasn't forgotten that special birthday!

The person we planned it for was able to spend quite a bit, so that helped but you could do it on a smaller scale as well. We had a petting zoo, a clown, snow cones, popcorn, ring toss, a jump house, fish pond, mini caramel apples, cotton candy, bean bag toss, face painter, balloon artist... all the fun carnival stuff. The kids loved it!

I made dirt pudding cups, chocolate covered gummy worms, an edible arrangement with fruit and gummy worms, cupcakes, and jello jigglers. His cake was chocolate with cookie "dirt" and grass fondant and plastic bugs. We had it at the park too. It was fun.
