I’ll admit, in the past sugar cookies have not been my favorite thing to make. This might stem from the time I spent hours making sugar cookies in the form of letters for a book club I was hosting. The cookies spelled out the name of the book "War and Peace". When I got home from an errand just before the book club started, my husband had inadvertently eaten all of the “R’s” that I had made. My beautiful platter of cookies now read "Wa and Peace". Why? Why would he eat all of the "R's"? I do not know. But sugar cookies remained on a list of things I did not want to make for quite sometime.
Until this past Saturday. Because on Saturday I received the cutest gift package from Karen’s Cookies. The package contained everything my family and I would need to make “Froggy” sugar cookies. And I could not contain my excitement! On Sunday afternoon we rolled out the dough, cut it into little frogs, baked it, and then decorated each cookie to look like an adorable frog. We had such a great time. And I decided sugar cookies are fun to make (and not to mention, delicious). So I have decided that next time I send a gift to a family (like I do to my cousin’s family each Christmas), I am going to send them a cookie decorating kit from Karen’s Cookies. Or I may just order some for my friends for their birthdays. Or I could give a kit to my little niece—a chef in training. Because not only are making and decorating cookies a fun activity, but the kit is something you will own forever.
The cookie decorating kits are Karen’s Cookies signature products. However, they also sell baking supplies, edible accents, and “My Cookie Books" that are filled with different sugar cooking instruction cards. Karen’s Cookies is one of the most comprehensive cookie decorating information sites on the web, so all of their cards have detailed instructions, and their web site is filled with free tutorials and ideas. Today Karen’s Cookies is giving away FIVE prizes:
ONE winner will win a full cookie decorating kit of his or her choice, gift packaged. (like the froggy kit I own)
ONE winner will receive a full "My Cookie Book" (binder, all 15 cards, plus sheet protectors for collecting their own ideas)
THREE winners will receive a St. Patrick's Day Cookie Cutter Set
In addition, Karen’s Cookies is offering the visitors of Give Away Today a coupon for 15% off of their entire order. The coupon code is “giveawaytoday”. It will be good for two weeks, until March 19, 2009. So if you are in need of some fun and unique gifts or if you would like to own Karen’s Cookie products for your own kitchen, start ordering. :)
There are four ways to enter to win one of the wonderful products from Karen’s Cookies. This contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.
