Vicky Harris: My dad served in the Army for 20+ years before he retired. He didn't serve in any war, much to his disappointment but our luck, but I am grateful for my dad. Him being in the Army took me to various places and expanded my mind. If he wasn't in the Army, he wouldn't have met my mother in Korea, and I wouldn't even be here.

Hannah Thomas: My paternal grandfather served in WWII. He was from New Zealand, but fought for the allies, and was based in the south of England as a Spitfire pilot. He was shot down over France, but survived, and spent the remainder of the war, in a POW camp, where he endured abuse and starvation, culminating in a 28 mile march to freedom. He truly was an inspirational man, and lead an exemplary life. I wish I had have had the opportunity to know him better.
