When my daughter first saw my new haircut she asked, “Why did you cut your hair?” She asked this in the same tone you might ask someone, “Why do you murder the neighbor’s cat?” or “Why did you set that building on fire?” She’s not a big fan of my new do. She thinks moms should have long hair.
I wasn’t quite sure about my hair at first, but I have to admit, it is growing on me (no pun intended). And this is why. I love placing stylish hair accessories in it.
Stylish hair accessories from Lyla Lous, to be exact.
They have the cutest flowers:
The most fashionable headbands: For adults and for children:
Lyla Lou's even remembers our wee ones. They offer soft baby headbands too:
Lyla Lou's hair accessories are not your average, run-of-the-mill flimsy little flowers. No sir. They are of high-quality and will make the perfect addition to any outfit. Two of my favorite things about the products I received from Lyla Lou's? The bling in the middle of the flowers. And the fact that their headbands have extra padding so that it doesn't hurt for you or your little one to wear the headband. After all, it shouldn't be painful to be fashionable.
And it shouldn't be expensive to be fashionable either. That is why Lyla Lou's offers great prices which they would like to make even greater by offering you a DISCOUNT! Lyla Lou's is offering the readers of Give Away Today a 25% discount off a purchase of $25 or more. The coupon code is "GIVEAWAY09". It will expire on September 18th.
For a second entry visit Lyla Lou's online shoppe here. Look at all of their gorgeous hair accessories. Then come back to Give Away Today and in a NEW comment tell us your first and last name and an item or two you wish you owned from Lyla Lou's.
For a third entry, become a blog follower of Give Away Today over there on the right-hand side. Once you have become a follower, or if you already follower, in a NEW comment, tell us your first and last name and the word "Follower."
Example: Jane Doe: Follower
For a fourth entry, when one of my neighbors saw my new haircut for the first time she said, “You got your haircut. That was really brave of you.” When I told this to my husband he said that she definitely meant it as a compliment.
“You think?” I asked him.
“Bravery is a good thing,” he replied.
“Yeah when you’re in war, but bravery when you get your haircut? I'm not so sure.”
So my question to you, dear friends, is when someone says to you, “You got your haircut. That was really brave of you.” are they giving you a compliment? In a NEW comment, please tell me your first and last name and your answer to this question.
Example: Jane Doe: Hmmmm...
The winners of the hair accessories from Lyla Lou's will be announced tomorrow, August 19th. Please visit us then to see if you are one of our winners and to check out our new giveaway for the day. See you tomorrow!

Jessica Valentine: I'd say if they use the term "brave," it can't be a good thing. I would probably be mildly offended, but then again, I like to overthink things.
Jessica Jensen
Jessica Jensen: I think the Flame Missy headband is adorable. I'd also have to add in some of the Daisy clips.

Jessica Jensen: I'd look at it as a compliment. People are sometimes afraid of change. She can see that not only are you not afraid of change, but that you embrace it. That is something to be admired.
Emily Stone :)
Emily Stone- it was probably supposed to be a compliment but didn't exactly come out right.

Diana Moody: My Sofia who is turning two next month is still trying to grow a full head of hair. She definitely could use some adornment. I love the green Lou Lou headband and red Fiona headband.
Abgail Peters
Diana Moody: Since you mentioned that you have had long hair for a long time it will probably take others time to get used to the new you. It takes me a while to get used to haircuts myself. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt.
Bunny B: I think it was a compliment. But cos she was surprised with your new look, she couldn't compliment on how you looked.
Abigail Peters; I really like the Flame Missy Headband, my niece looks gorgeous in red and I know she'd love it!

Abigail peters; I'm one to take things personally so I definitely would NOT take this as a compliment, I had someone at work do the same thing to me and if they liked my hair they would say it flat out, not beat around the bush...lol I guess it's a girl thing.

Carly Nielson: I'd go for the Zoe flower clip or the feather headband.
Carly Nielson: I'm guessing she meant that as a compliment but maybe it didn't come out the way she wanted it to.

Rosemary Wilmott
Rosemary Wilmott - After making my first dress ever for my daughter I would have to say I need the "peach Lou lou clip" and the "light pink lou lou headband" to complete the look for her.
Rosemary Wilmott - Follower
Rosemary Wilmott - hmmm, I wouldn't take offence to the comment, I'm not 100% on it being a compliment though. I myself have said something like this, and my meaning was to go from really long locks to a very short look would take alot of courage as you can't get it back overnight if it doesn't look right, and it's probably not something I would be brave enough to do lol.

Priscilla Dulin: I'd give her the benefit of the doubt, but I had someone say those exact words to me years ago after I chopped 10 inches off my hair. In my case, she needed to say something because it was obvious that I had gotten it cut, but she most likely didn't like my haircut, and would never tell me to my face :)

Brandy Hoot - it would take me a few days but ultimately I would take "brave" as a compliment. Better than hearing "Oh, you cut your hair! Now your face doesn't look fat." I still don't know how to take that one!!

Amy Wendt: hmmmm..could go either way, probably depends on the who is saying it and how.........
Nicole Lindsey: I would take it as a compliment, especially if you got several inches cut off your hair. Having a huge change like that for something basically irreversible is difficult, and she admires the fact that you would be willing to take the chance.

LETS SEE THE PICTURE!! (you can always take it off later...)
summer voorhies- I think a lot of people want to try short hair but are afraid to so when they said you are brave it's probably because they would love to cut their hair but don't dare. Compliment for sure.
