When my daughter first saw my new haircut she asked, “Why did you cut your hair?” She asked this in the same tone you might ask someone, “Why do you murder the neighbor’s cat?” or “Why did you set that building on fire?” She’s not a big fan of my new do. She thinks moms should have long hair.
I wasn’t quite sure about my hair at first, but I have to admit, it is growing on me (no pun intended). And this is why. I love placing stylish hair accessories in it.
Stylish hair accessories from Lyla Lous, to be exact.
They have the cutest flowers:
The most fashionable headbands: For adults and for children:
Lyla Lou's even remembers our wee ones. They offer soft baby headbands too:
Lyla Lou's hair accessories are not your average, run-of-the-mill flimsy little flowers. No sir. They are of high-quality and will make the perfect addition to any outfit. Two of my favorite things about the products I received from Lyla Lou's? The bling in the middle of the flowers. And the fact that their headbands have extra padding so that it doesn't hurt for you or your little one to wear the headband. After all, it shouldn't be painful to be fashionable.
And it shouldn't be expensive to be fashionable either. That is why Lyla Lou's offers great prices which they would like to make even greater by offering you a DISCOUNT! Lyla Lou's is offering the readers of Give Away Today a 25% discount off a purchase of $25 or more. The coupon code is "GIVEAWAY09". It will expire on September 18th.
For a second entry visit Lyla Lou's online shoppe here. Look at all of their gorgeous hair accessories. Then come back to Give Away Today and in a NEW comment tell us your first and last name and an item or two you wish you owned from Lyla Lou's.
For a third entry, become a blog follower of Give Away Today over there on the right-hand side. Once you have become a follower, or if you already follower, in a NEW comment, tell us your first and last name and the word "Follower."

For a fourth entry, when one of my neighbors saw my new haircut for the first time she said, “You got your haircut. That was really brave of you.” When I told this to my husband he said that she definitely meant it as a compliment.
“You think?” I asked him.
“Bravery is a good thing,” he replied.
“Yeah when you’re in war, but bravery when you get your haircut? I'm not so sure.”
So my question to you, dear friends, is when someone says to you, “You got your haircut. That was really brave of you.” are they giving you a compliment? In a NEW comment, please tell me your first and last name and your answer to this question.
Example: Jane Doe: Hmmmm...
The winners of the hair accessories from Lyla Lou's will be announced tomorrow, August 19th. Please visit us then to see if you are one of our winners and to check out our new giveaway for the day. See you tomorrow!

Laura Wilkinson: I think it depends on the tone of her voice. But not being there to hear I would say it wasn't a complement because if she liked it then she would have just come out and said I like your haircut. but that is just my opinion.
Paula Decaria, When someone tells it was brave of me, I usually think my hair must be horrible. But I also really chop my hair, and most people are too attached to their hair to do that, so it could go either way, they admire you, or you looked better with long hair.
Laura Wilkinson: daisy headband and the zoe clips.
Stacey Fiessinger: I think fiona flower headband is really cute, but then again, they all are!

Diane Mui
Michele Ondra: I don't think that I would take it as a compliment. I think that the person just didn't know exactly what to say. If they liked it, they would normally just say so.
Then again, maybe they have wanted to cut their own hair short for a while but are too chicken to do so which is why they commented the way they did... out of a little bit of jealousy.
Kalyne Nicholes: I'm trying to figure that out for myself. I just cut my hair very short. Everyone says "you cut your hair." So do they like it or not?
I really like the white flower headbands a lot.

Ashley Whitehead: Probably a little bit of both, I'd say they are talking to themselves thinking, "I would love to try a short cut, but I'm not brave...." You definitely pull off the short look.
Ashley Whitehead: the cranberry or orange clip!
I LOVE the Zoe headbands. My girls basically only wear pink, so anything pink matches their ensembles PERFECTLY!
PS- totally a compliment, because you do have to be brave to cut your hair! I've lacked that bravery for years!

Kelly Jones...not so sure it is a compliment
Katrina Young
Alison Jennings: I thnk it depends on how she said it. If it was a drastic cut then it was probably a compliment.
Lisa Liechty- it depends on the tone used! It could really be a compliment, she may want to cut her's but just doesn't dare!

Jessica Hutchings: I think it depends on the tone of their voice, but I would just take it as a compliment and know that you are a brave person!
Amber Seely: I think the hair comment was meant to be a compliment. It sounds like you went from long to short hair, which can be a scary change. I love the kind of comments that keep you guessing, like 'you look comfortable today' I got that one the other day!
Nicole Carr- definatly compliment!
Allison Bench: follower
Bethany Struthers: definitely a compliment, especially since you say your haircut was quite drastic, big hair changes can be extremely intimidating for people

Allison Bench: Green Lou Lou headband and orange ruthie clip
Stacy Compton: If I said it was brave I would mean, it's cute on you but I would never have the guts to go for it.

Heather Long
Jennifer Wilcox.
I think a lot of women use their hair like a security blanket. The thought of cutting their hair makes them feel exposed and insecure. OR long hair is their identity. So I say take it as a compliment! You don't have to hide behind your hair!

sommer curtis: don't think it's a compliment, she didn't say, "it looks great on you, or i like it" afterwards. why is cutting your hair brave anyways??? it's just hair!
Sarah Matheson:
Unfortunately being called brave in a haircut isn't really a compliment. Usually if someone likes a haircut they just say it's cute. However if it's from really long to really short sometimes it just takes time for people to get used to it and soon they'll think it's great! Just give it some time.

Lindsay Lakin- headbands, Headbands, HEADBANDS!!! They are all too cute to decide!
Tara Shreeve: I am a follower!
Tara Shreeve: If you cut it super short (pixie) then yes thats so brave and a compliment, a few inches not a compliment!
Lindsay Lakin- That is a tough one to answer . . . it could be taken a number of ways. Was it a drastic haircut? If you made a major change maybe this person was complimenting your zest and zeal for life, that you never look back and hey, its just hair it will grow back, right? I have found that most people are far too afraid to make drastic changes with their hair, and therefor take few risks and have few adventures in their life. So take it as a compliment and to mean that you are a brave woman, willing to face anything life brings your way and you do it with gumption and style!

Tammy Adams - I'm sure it's meant to be a compliment, but why don't people just say "I like it!"
Summer Andrus - Yellow Sophie baby headband or Light Pink Lou Lou Baby Headband
Summer Andrus - I'm not so sure that is ever a compliment! It seems to me if you are saying that, then you are saying it was pretty drastic and you're not sure if it was a good idea!
Megan Izatt: I love the flower headbands and the flower clips, all of them are gorgeous!

Cassidy Mickelsen: the lou lou clip is my favorite. I cold order a few, especially for how notorious I am for losing hair things...
Cassidy Mickelsen: Brave means hmmm...I can't believe you did that and I don't know if it looks good until I see you a few times and get used to it.
Sarah Clark: Trixie Headband and Feather Headband
RuthAnn Mayne-I would have to get the white "ruthie" headband and the berry "ruthie" flower clip, because my nickname is Ruthie!
Tiffany Hillam: I love the feather and button headbands!
RuthAnn Mayne-Follower
karley simmons - I would go with compliment - I once donated my hair when chopping it off to Beautiful Lengths and the lady next to me who I didn't know says to her hair lady so loud... shes cutting off all her hair! I think those that call you brave are just too scared to do it themselves for fear of what others may think.
Tiffany Hillam: I think it was a compliment- she may be to scared to cut her hair even if she wanted to...
Sarah Clark: Compliment! I wish I was brave enough to cut my hair super short! Although I don't think I'd say that to someone who just got their hair cut.
RuthAnn Mayne-I think if you cut off a lot then it would be a compliment. But you also have to take in to consideration the person saying it. Some people do little jabs to make them feel better so if she is one of those people then it doesn't really matter what she says because she's just being herself.

Lori Woodbury. I would love the Lou Lou, Fiona, and Feather headbands because my daugher has fiery red hair that would look amazing against those colors, and she's finally allowing headbands instead of just clips. (Maybe she's let mommy borrow them once in a while too.)
